On the 18th of June, company employees organized an excursion to a farmstead called Happy Acres. Under the guidance of our leader, we first toured the geological museum in Shenzhen where we observed many fascinating fossils. Next, we journeyed to the mountain to picnic. Preparing our own repast presented a rewarding challenge, as every ingredient required procurement independently. Divided into three groups, cooperation was key to completing our tasks and combining our efforts into a sumptuous meal — no small feat after our labours! The simplicity of doing for ourselves lent the occasion great joy. To conclude, we travelled to the shoreline where we swam and played in the surf. Though weary by day’s end, enthusiasm remained high from memories formed throughout a fulfilling experience in nature’s beauty and companionship.
